At Performance Friction, there is no good, better, or best. They are all the best. Carbon Metallic® pads will not fade, even under the most extreme conditions. They are consistent, too. From the time you first put in a set of Performance Friction brake pads to the end of the pad life, you will get the same level of performance. This means the car or truck will stay balanced front to rear and no matter how much you wear the pads, they will not pull to one side. Your braking performance will be unmatched.   Our Carbon Metallic® pads are extremely dense. This keeps compressibility to virtually nothing. The result is better pedal feel. When an ordinary brake material compresses, it becomes an unpredictable factor in your braking system. Heat affects the compressibility of ordinary pads, so compressibility can change depending on conditions. When you release the brakes with less-dense pads, you may not get a complete release. With Performance Friction's Carbon Metallic® pads you can modulate your brakes with much more finesse.
  Braking performance is when you get off the brakes, you're off. Different applications require various amounts of braking torque. Performance Friction pads come in four series to meet these demands. Our Z-RatedTM series is a street version of our compound. The 80 series offers a medium amount of braking torque under race conditions. The 83 series provides a high degree of braking torque. Our newest pads are designed for limited high-end applications, as the 93 series gives the ultimate braking torque possible.
   
  Performance Friction has set new standards in the design of brake pads for racing, high-performance street applications, fleet trucks, and OEM use. We have developed many of our own testing procedures and related equipment, implemented quality-control programs that really work, pioneered manufacturing processes that are still unmatched, and throughout it all, kept the performance of our product foremost in our goals.
  We also realize that machines and procedures alone will not get you to the front. That's why we have extremely talented people on our staff who truly care about our product. Our tech line is available to answer your questions, and we also attend many trade shows and race events throughout the year. Ionic FusionTM is a patented process that Performance Friction developed to prevent debonding of disc brake pads under extreme conditions, one of the most evident modes of failure. The integrally molded disc pads can handle a great deal more shear than other pads on the market. This test was conducted on medium-duty school bus pads to show the difference under severe conditions. Four different brands of pads were subjected to an accelerated test simulation where the pads were submitted to a continuous heat soak at 550ºF for eight days. Performance Friction's Carbon Metallic® pads with Ionic FusionTM start out with a much stronger pad bond and retain that superiority throughout the test period.
